South Causey Inn is proud to be home to the former Michelin-starred Hjem restaurant in an exclusive residency running until the end of 2026. Led by acclaimed chef Alex Nietosvuori, Hjem Vin brings together the finest elements of modern British and Nordic cuisine, celebrating exceptional seasonal ingredients and innovative flavours. Guests can enjoy beautifully crafted tasting menus and à la carte dining within the elegant surroundings of The Farmhouse at South Causey Inn. Alongside its signature dining experiences, Hjem will also host a series of exciting pop-up events and special collaborations throughout the residency, offering unforgettable culinary experiences in the heart of the Durham countryside.

We are also delighted to welcome back Hjem Vin – a relaxed and social dining concept offering an informal way to experience the exceptional quality and creativity that Hjem is renowned for. Featuring small plates, fresh oysters, charcuterie boards and more, Hjem Vin is perfect for leisurely weekend lunches, sharing with friends and enjoying great food in a laid-back atmosphere. Hjem Vin is available every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm to 2:30pm.
