If you’re looking for new things to do and places to go with your baby or toddler, you’ve found the perfect place where you can drop in every week for free, to meet other local parents and enjoy adult company while your little ones can play together and with the toys provided.

Once you arrive at South Causey Inn, you will be shown into the space where our Family Wednesday Group will be taking place, from 10:00 until 11:00. Toys will be available for the little ones, and a seating area for the adults where you can order breakfast, hot drinks, scones and more if you wish.

This group is completely free to attend and is a fun and relaxing morning out for you and your little ones. We hope to see you there! Please note, the area where this Group takes place is subject to change every week.

    Our Family Wednesday's take place every week in our Durham Suite from 10:00 until 11:00. Please note, this group is for 3 yrs and under only and is unfortunately no longer dog friendly. 

    • Free entry, no bookings needed
    • Just come along 10am until 11:30am

    • Bouncy Castle
    • Breakfast, hot drinks and light snack will be available to order if you wish
    • Parents must have full responsibility for their children at all times

  • Pets Corner Picnic

    Looking for the perfect family day out? Join us for a magical morning at South Causey Inn’s Family Morning Pets Corner Picnic! Parents and little ones are invited to bring their favourite toy pets along for a day filled with adventure, exploration, and adorable animals.

    What’s in Store?

    • Scarecrow Trail Adventure – Start your morning by exploring the Scarecrow Festival, where you can wander through the grounds and discover a variety of creative and fun scarecrow displays.
    • Meet the Animals at Pets Corner – Say hello to our friendly goats, alpacas, and other adorable animals! Children will have the chance to lead, stroke, and interact with some of the cutest farmyard friends.
    • Dress Up & Capture the Moment – Kids are encouraged to dress up as their favourite pet animals for a special professional photoshoot with F&E Photography – a perfect keepsake from a fantastic day out!
    • Bouncy Castle & Playtime in the Durham Suite – After meeting the animals, head back to the Durham Suite where little ones can bounce, jump, and play on the bouncy castle and enjoy all the fun toys provided.
    • Picnic & Refreshments – A fun day out wouldn’t be complete without a tasty treat! Kids' picnic boxes will be available for just £4.95 per person, alongside a selection of refreshments for parents and children.
