Here at South Causey Inn we understand that, at this difficult time, you may need a helping hand and that is why we are here to offer as much or as little input as you need. We can help you organise the venue design, help to write the menu, drinks, flowers and music to create a truly special, unique and bespoke farewell however small and subtle, large and unusual or something in-between!
For many people the shock following the death of a loved one and the hurried arrangements soon afterwards can leave a sense of regret that you may have wished to have done things a little differently. Our ceremonies at South Causey Inn provide the perfect opportunity to gather together family, friends and children to remember and celebrate a life well lived and to share in treasured memories. This can be lead by one of our Celebrants through music, readings, poetry and prayers - however you wish it to be. This could coincide with a birthday or anniversary, or shortly after a cremation which could include scattering of ashes.
Our Professional Celebrant will be delighted to discuss with you the type of ceremony and the tone that you wish to create. They are highly experienced, sensitive and very aware of the difficulties that you are facing. You can call on them to give a eulogy at the cremation, a ceremony of remembrance here at South Causey Inn or even help you in the scattering of ashes in the grounds of South Causey. This is your time to remember your loved ones and commemorate as you see fit
When organising, it helps to get a structure together. It is worth asking family, friends and work colleagues for any contributions such as any memories, highlights, favourite songs or quotes. Even partners or friends of many years may have parts of their lives that the other does not know very well – early years, working life, a club or hobby they had. These little things can help make the day a truly special way of remembering your loved one, in a way as unique as they were...
We have a huge array of room decorative ideas, from simple flowers grown in our very own Flower & Herb Garden, which can be casually arranged in jam jars and decanters, or our professional florist can create alternative arrangements for you.
It can often be comforting to see photos of your loved one at the celebration, and friends and family are more than welcome to provide us with photos which we will arrange onto a memory board for your guests to look over and prompt those happy memories of past times. We can also arrange for your digital photos and any video clips you have to be played through a projector and shown on a screen as a slideshow of those happy times too...
We will endeavour to meet any other little details which could make the day easier ...If you would like a table reserving in the function room just for close family, to have a little quiet time to reflect, or if you would like to release some balloons or have a fireworks display to send your beloved on their final journey, just let us know!
